Parents Need to Understand the Growing Problem of Mental Health Suicides in Young People
Lamentably, many parents don’t know much about mental health issues in young people. Some might think their children are only looking for attention with their complaints. Others dismiss their children’s claims altogether.
Yet, it’s vital that parents take these issues seriously. It takes a lot of courage for their children to even approach them with the problem. Parents need to listen!
In a poll where participants were asked who they would talk to about mental health issues, a massive 44% said they’d talk to a friend, while only 26% said they’d go to their parents.
This is a problem that needs to be addressed.
