Two in Five Formerly Depressed Adults Are Happy, Flourishing
A new study reports that about 39% of depressed adults can achieve complete mental health – including almost daily happiness, positive psychological well-being, and freedom of suicidal thoughts and substance.
This provides a message of hope for those struggling with depression.
Researchers found that those who had social and emotional support from close relationships were four times more likely to reach complete mental health than those without. Having at least one trusted friend then, is critical to reach the goal of mental health after depression.
