Work More, Stress More: Most Americans Aren’t Taking the Vacation They’ve Earned
It’s clear that stress has a negative effect on health, even increasing the risk of heart and liver disease.
One of the major sources of stress can be work. But while many know it’s healthy to periodically disengage from one’s everyday routines, most don’t take full advantage of days off from work.
A recent poll found that some 50% of Americans who work long hours don’t take the vacations they’ve earned. And those that do take days off, often end up working while on vacation – taking their stress with them.
