Vulnerability – The Birthplace of Happiness?
All too many people try to minimize, avoid, or deny their failings in an attempt to keep from admitting their vulnerability. It’s a futile attempt.
The awareness of our vulnerability starts often early in life with wounds from hardship, stress, and perhaps trauma. It gets compounded with continued stresses and setbacks. The closer to home the setback hits, the more pain it causes. And this pattern eventually affects many parts of our life.
But do setbacks really have to be so severe that they makes us feel powerless and vulnerable? Could it actually be that strength and happiness is about being vulnerable and powerful?
